Oak Ridge High School Senior Pictures | Hannah's Senior Session
Senior year goes by ridiculously fast. Between classes, college decisions, graduation plans and everything that comes with that final year of high school, senior pictures are one of those rare opportunities to slow down and celebrate who you are right now.
For Hannah, an Oak Ridge High School senior, we planned an outdoor session with plenty of open space, beautiful natural light and room to create several different looks.
We photographed her session during golden hour, when the light was soft and warm—and Hannah absolutely came alive in front of the camera.

We timed Hannah's session for later in the day so we could take advantage of that beautiful light just before sunset.
The location gave us open fields, mature trees, rustic fencing and plenty of room to move around.
Although this particular private property is no longer available for photography sessions, the overall look is something we can absolutely recreate at other locations around The Woodlands and Greater Houston.
That's one reason I don't believe every senior needs to choose the exact same "senior picture location."
The setting matters, but what matters more is choosing a location that works with your personality, your outfits and the overall feel you want from your senior photos.
Senior Pictures That Actually Feel Like You
Hannah brought several different looks to her session, which gave us a lot of variety without needing multiple locations.
Her yellow dress and boots were perfect against the fields and rustic surroundings. We photographed movement, walking shots and some of those slightly more dramatic golden-hour portraits where the light became part of the photograph.
Then we mixed in more casual looks for portraits that felt relaxed and natural.
That's generally how I approach senior sessions. We'll get the beautiful portraits your parents and grandparents want, but I also want photographs that actually feel like you.
You don't need to know how to pose or what to do with your hands. I'll guide you through all of that while keeping things moving so you don't feel like you're standing in one place forcing a smile at my camera for an hour.
What Should You Wear for Oak Ridge High School Senior Pictures?
One of the easiest ways to get more variety from your senior gallery is through your outfits.
I usually recommend bringing looks that feel different from one another rather than three versions of essentially the same outfit.
That might mean pairing a dressier outfit with something casual, incorporating your favorite jeans, boots or sneakers, or bringing something that feels especially representative of your senior year.
Hannah's session is a great example of how clothing can completely change the feel of a photograph even when we're staying in the same general location.

Where Should Oak Ridge High School Seniors Take Senior Pictures?
You don't need to use the same location as every other senior from your school.
I photograph seniors throughout The Woodlands and Greater Houston, and we'll choose a location based on the look you're drawn to.
Some seniors want fields, trees and golden light like Hannah's session. Others want something more modern around Hughes Landing or The Woodlands Waterway. And some want to head into Houston for a completely different urban look.

Oak Ridge High School is right in the community I serve, and I would love to photograph more ORHS seniors.
