A Thanksgiving Trip Home... with a Secret
Judy, an incredibly talented architect, lives with her love, Magdy, in Boston. While Judy traveled down to Houston to spend Thanksgiving with her family, Magdy was hatching a secret plan that involved a clandestine trip and the full, enthusiastic support of Judy's wonderful family!
Judy knew that an engagement was in their near-term future—after all, she’s an architect and even designed her own engagement ring! But she had no idea Magdy was about to sweep her off her feet with a perfectly executed, emotional surprise right here in Texas.
Where to Propose in Houston? The Perfect Cover Story!
Magdy chose one of the most beautiful spots in the area for their big moment: Mercer Botanic Gardens.
For the proposal, the family cooked up the perfect cover story. Judy's friend, Root, claimed she needed to drop off her little sister at the gardens for a seemingly random reason. The trio strolled to the elegant English Garden area—and that’s when the magic happened.
Suddenly, Magdy appeared from behind a bush! The look on Judy’s face when she realized what was happening was absolutely priceless. Magdy took her hand and led her to the exact, chosen spot for the proposal.
The Sweetest, Most Animated “Yes!”
These two are truly a sweet and animated couple, and their joy was infectious! Magdy got down on one knee, presented Judy with the ring she designed, and the emotion that followed was absolutely incredible.
You can see in these photos the sheer magnitude of feeling Judy experienced. Tears, laughter, and when the reality of the moment truly set in? She started jumping for joy! It was raw, honest, and everything you could ever hope for in a surprise proposal.
