From the Strutters to Tiger Territory: Anna’s Senior Portraits at Hughes Landing
There is something truly special about the energy of a high school senior on the cusp of a new chapter. Recently, I had the absolute joy of spending an afternoon with Anna, a graduating senior from Klein Oak High School. As a member of the renowned Strutters dance team, Anna brought a natural grace and poise to her session that made every shot a dream to capture.
Pushing Through the Texas Clouds
We chose Hughes Landing in The Woodlands, TX for her backdrop. It’s one of my favorite local spots because it offers a perfect blend of modern architecture, lush greenery, and that serene lakeside view.
Even though the Texas weather decided to give us a bit of a challenge—overcast skies and a few light sprinkles—we didn’t let it dampen our spirits. In fact, that soft, diffused light from a cloudy day is a photographer’s secret weapon for beautiful, glowing skin tones!
Anna mentioned early on that she was a little nervous about being in front of the camera. But about 30 minutes into our time together, she leaned over and told me, “I’m actually having fun!” Honestly, that is the best compliment I could ever receive. My goal is always to make sure you feel just as good as you look.
The Enhanced Session Experience
Anna opted for the Enhanced Session, which provides up to two hours of photography coverage. This is such a fantastic choice for seniors because it allows us to slow down, explore different corners of Hughes Landing, and really let their personality shine through. We managed to fit in three distinct outfit changes, ranging from classic senior style to nods toward her exciting future.
Geaux Tigers! Engineering a Bright Future
Beyond her dance moves and great style, Anna is incredibly driven. She’s officially LSU bound this fall, where she will be majoring in Electrical Engineering. It’s not every day you meet someone who can balance the precision of dance with the rigors of an engineering degree! She’s also looking forward to the sisterhood and community of sorority life in college, and I have no doubt she’s going to thrive in Baton Rouge.
